Dr Sarah Gordon is CEO and co-founder of Critical Productions. A geologist by training, Sarah also specialises in Sustainability and enterprise risk management. Well respected across industry, academia, policy and civil society within raw materials, Sarah is passionate in supporting the step change required in raw materials to allow for the Just Transition to become a reality. Sarah is also CEO of Satarla; Co-founder of Responsible Raw Materials; and sits on a number of Boards across the sector.
Jeff Townsend - Founder & Chief Strategy Officer
Jeff is a well respected lobbyist who grew up on mines all around the world. His ability to navigate both political and mining sectors led him to found the Critical Minerals Association, initially in the UK but also establishing CMA’s in Australia and the USA. He also founded the global critical minerals alliance, The Critical Minerals International Alliance that engages with global bodies such as the UN, WEF, World Bank and MSP. He is a Director of Rock Art Consulting, a bespoke external affairs consultancy for the mining industry. He has sat on numerous Government Advisory groups and currently is the Chairman of the Advisory Group to the UK’s Climates Programme.
Chris Conway - Producer
Chris is a self-shooting director specialising in destination documentary, corporate, social, and event film making. With 15 years of experience crafting impactful stories in over 30 different countries; leading productions from concept stage onwards, consistently delivering high quality, engaging, and purposeful films.
Helen Bargmann - Producer
Helen has worked in the film & television industry for the last 5 years, and recently has moved over to working at Critical Productions as an assistant producer. She believes in storytelling as an important tool in the fight for a sustainable planet, and with experience working on documentaries such as Plastic Warriors, and a passion for sustainability, Helen is keen to create content that will reach a wide audience and help make an impact that will hopefully be felt for many years to come.
Matthew Grimsham - Geologist
Matthew has a PhD and is a Chartered Geologist with nearly 10 years of experience in natural resources, working in both academia and the industry. As an exploration geologist, he has developed a thorough understanding of the mining sector, working with small junior companies, major mining corporations, and governments in Africa, the Middle East, North America, and Australia. Matthew is dedicated to applying his generalist expertise to break down silos within the industry, advocating for responsible practices that benefit all stakeholders. He has a keen interest in the interconnections between the planet's history, its natural landscapes, and the communities that live within them, aiming to promote responsible resource management.
Andres Cruz - Videoproducer
Andres is a highly experienced videographer with over 10 years of expertise in marketing, international news production, and capturing the essence of the mining industry. As a key member of the Spotlight Mining team for the past 3 years (currently Critical Productions) he has traveled globally, documenting everything from small exploration companies to fully operational mines. With a focus on quality and simplicity, Andres creates visually stunning videos that effectively communicate complex topics.

With three years of dedicated service on our social media team, Daniela is a seasoned professional specializing in crafting compelling content for our clients. With a keen eye for precision, Daniela is committed to creating strategies and producing appealing content that effectively communicates the intricacies of the mining industry, ensuring our clients maintain a strong and engaging digital presence.
Lorna Jones - Finance Manager
Drawing from a career in Emergency nursing, Lorna now uses her keen eye for detail and precision as the Finance Manager for Critical Productions. Lorna transitioned back to her first love of numbers and retrained in accounting in 2017, building on her passion for budget management and alignment, bringing a strength of calm and stability to the exciting world of video production.
Sam Pettit - Web Developer
Sam Pettit wears two hats: Digital Strategist and web developer. At Critical Productions Sam brings experience of every state of web development projects from initial scoping to final delivery and client handover. He also works with our clients to help them navigate digital and create strategies for using technology to reach their goals.
Camilo Queipo - Photographer
As a lead photographer he has been photographing events for CMA (Critical Minerals Association) and CMIA. He has gained various book awards including the Sports Book Awards and the Sunday Times Young Writer. Camilo has a lot of Interior and Still Life Photography experience and also excels in Portrait work. Camilo’s personal work focuses on architecture and nature, grand spaces and the derelict. He recently received a commission to portray the many Islands of the Thames along the South-West London section and has been published in a book entitled Carl Goes: London Islands.
